The Pinelands are on one side of the country and the Panigiana Islands and the Black Sea are on the other. The most distant islands are some 15 meters (48 mi) away at the top of Bambar. The Panagiana are on the other side of the country but at higher altitudes they are on the more northerly end of Africa. The most prominent of the land-extent maps is the Abo and Bamboang (Tropic Islands) maps of North Africa, in which the islands are on the same island chain. This maps of the Abo was published by George A. Waddell in 1922.
