New Kitchen has opened on a not very busy part of St. Petersburg, but people come here from anywhere in the city. The open kitchen is commanded by Marat Vakhitov, who worked for three years in Moscow’s White Rabbit under the leadership of Vladimir Mukhin. He prepares a comfortable meal that makes you want to come back. The menu fits on an A4 sheet; among the headliners – forshmak with Borodino bread, crab cake with salmon and shrimps, salad with eggplant and tomatoes, milk mushrooms with potatoes, sea bass with black rice and sea buckthorn, marble veal cutlet with celery and shawarma puree (just like that – in the St. Petersburg style ). In the dessert section, Marat allowed himself a little more creativity, but here, too, he turns to familiar tastes. So, “Borodinsky bread with sea water and kvass” actually turns out to be crunchy crumb with a recognizable sweetish taste of bread, delicate soufflГ© from kvass and ice cream with prunes. Breakfast is served from 8 to 12: they prepare a casserole with walnuts and white raisins, toast with roast beef and poached egg and other joys of life.
